Varsha Paints & Hardware

Down here on 80Ft Road in Kathriguppa, things stay pretty moving. Varsha Paints & Hardware has been sitting at No. 117 for a while. It’s a busy stretch of Banashankari 3rd Stage, so there is always someone popping in because they ran out of nails or need a specific shade of blue that they saw somewhere else. The shelves are packed tight with cans and boxes, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what someone is asking for. We have those tall ladders because the ceiling is high and we try to use every inch of space we have. It gets a bit dusty with all the hardware, but we try to sweep up when there is a lull in the afternoon. People from the neighborhood know us, and we know most of them too. Sometimes someone comes in just to ask for directions or to see if we know a good plumber nearby. We don’t do any of that fancy interior design stuff, we just sell the stuff you need to get the job done at home. The morning sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard, so we usually have the shutter halfway down if it gets too hot. It’s just a normal hardware shop where we try to keep the basics in stock and help out whoever walks through the door. It’s a lot of lifting heavy buckets and counting out screws, but it is what we do every day.
