Varalakshmi Hospital

We are located at No.38/2 on 2nd Main Road in the Madivala New Extension. If you know where the Ayyappa Temple is, we are right behind it. It's a busy part of Madivala, always something going on with the temple crowds and the traffic on the main road. The hospital stays pretty active because of where we sit. We have been in this building for quite a while. It’s got a few floors and the stairs are a bit narrow, so the lift gets a lot of use. My desk is near the front, and I see everyone coming in. Some days it’s really loud outside with the festivals or just the general buzz of the market nearby. We don’t really do much fancy advertising; people just know we are the place behind the temple. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we all walk or take a short bus ride to get here. We spend a lot of time organizing files and making sure the doctors have what they need. The waiting room gets crowded in the evenings, especially when it rains and everyone tries to squeeze inside. We try to keep things moving along, but hospitals are unpredictable. Sometimes a shift goes long, and we end up staying way past the time we're supposed to leave. It’s just how it goes here in Madivala. We’re just a regular part of the street, doing what needs to be done. I usually grab a snack from the vendor outside when things get slow.
