Number 38 on GNT Road is where you will find us every day. Erkancherry is a noisy part of town, but we have gotten used to the sound of the traffic over the years. Our shop is filled with the smell of grinding wheels and industrial oil. It is a heavy smell that sticks to your clothes long after you leave for the day. We have got metal shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, stacked high with boxes of every size and weight. We use an old rolling ladder to get the stuff down from the top. It is a bit creaky and makes a lot of noise, but it hasn't let us down yet. We do not have a website that looks like a movie trailer or anything fancy. We just have a phone that rings and a front door that stays open. Most of our customers are folks from the nearby workshops who have been coming here since we first opened the doors. We know their names and exactly what kind of abrasive grit they usually need for their jobs. Sometimes we sit around the back and talk about how much the road has changed since the old days. The traffic on GNT Road never seems to stop, even late at night. We handle all the paperwork on a small wooden desk that is a bit dusty. We just keep moving the boxes and helping people.
