United Glass & Crockeries

Avenue Road is always packed with people, and our shop at No.540 is right in the thick of it. We deal in glass and crockeries, so the shelves are always full of plates, bowls, and glassware. It can be a bit nerve-wracking when the shop gets crowded because everything is so breakable. We have been at this spot for quite some time, though some people still use the old number 424 when they are looking for us. United Glass & Crockeries is not a fancy boutique. It is more of a traditional shop where things are stacked high and you have to be careful where you step. We spend our days unpacking heavy crates and helping people find the right sets for their kitchens. Sometimes a customer wants something we do not have in stock, and we have to go hunting through the back rooms to find it. It is dusty work and the air is often thick with the smell of packing straw and cardboard boxes. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that. People just know us because we have been on Avenue Road for such a long time. The traffic outside is constant, and the noise never really stops until we pull the shutters down at night. It is a lot of work keeping everything clean and making sure nothing gets chipped or broken. (248 words)
