Ugs International

Ugs International is up on the second floor of Green House. We are right on Green Street in the Fort area. If you’ve been to Fort, you know how these old heritage buildings are. The stairs are a bit steep and the hallways are narrow, but once you get inside our space, it’s perfectly alright. We have windows that look out onto the busy street, and it’s always loud with the sounds of car horns and people shouting. We do a lot of international work from here, which mostly involves a lot of phone calls and typing on old computers. The desks are piled high with folders and shipping documents from various countries. It’s not very organized to a stranger’s eye, but we know exactly where everything is. We usually get our tea from the guy downstairs who brings it up in a little wire carrier twice a day. Fort is a busy place to be, and it feels like everyone is always in a hurry to get somewhere. We just try to keep up with the orders and make sure the paperwork is correct for the shipments. It’s not a fancy office with modern furniture or glass walls; it’s more of a practical workspace that’s been used for many years. We stay late most evenings because that’s when the calls from other time zones start coming in. It’s just how the business goes for us here at Green Street.
