Tulips Auto (India) -Pvt Ltd is based over on Mission Road, not too far from Shivaji Park. We’ve got our setup at 25/3, which is a spot we’ve called home for many years. It’s an interesting area because you have the park nearby but the streets are always full of cars and people moving around. We deal with auto parts and various things related to vehicles. The shop usually smells like oil and old metal, which is something you just get used to. We spend a lot of time sorting through inventory and making sure we have what the local mechanics are looking for. Sometimes someone comes in looking for a part for a car that hasn't been made in twenty years, and we have to go dig around in the back to see if we have it. It’s a bit of a maze back there. The guys working here have been around cars their whole lives. We don't do much in the way of fancy displays. Most of our stuff is just sitting on heavy-duty racks. We open up pretty early because that’s when the deliveries start arriving from Cadell Road. It can be a bit chaotic when three trucks show up at once, but we manage to get through it. It’s just a solid, old-fashioned business that keeps the local transport moving. We stay open pretty late to make sure everyone gets their orders picked up.
