Tiger Batteries

Tiger Batteries is a small shop tucked away in Basavanagudi on Dodda Guberson Lane. It is one of those old-fashioned narrow lanes where the neighbors all know each other's names. Most of our day is spent handling car and bike batteries that have given out. There is usually a faint smell of battery acid and some grease marks on the floor, but that is just the nature of what we do. People from around the area bring in their old batteries to see if we can give them a fresh charge or if it is time to buy a new one. We have been in this exact spot for many years now. While the rest of Basavanagudi has changed with new cafes and shops, our lane remains mostly the same. It can get a bit cramped when a new shipment of stock arrives, but we manage to stack everything up. We don't bother with fancy window displays or marketing posters. It is just rows of heavy batteries and the tools we need to test them. Sometimes we sit on a bench outside when it is quiet and watch the people walking by. We know which customers like to talk about the old days and which ones just want to get their car started quickly. It is a very direct and honest way to make a living. We have seen families grow up in this neighborhood and now their kids come to us for their own vehicle needs.
