Down at A-16 in the M.C.I.E. area off Mathura Road, things stay pretty busy. Thunderbird Industries (I) Pvt. Ltd. isn't a place with glass walls or shiny floors. It’s an industrial spot, so there’s a lot of dust and the smell of metal or oil depending on what’s happening that day. We spend most of our time out on the floor or in the cramped office space near the entrance. Mathura Road is always a nightmare for traffic, so we all try to get in early to avoid the worst of it. The morning start is usually just us checking the machines and seeing what needs fixing from the day before. We don't have a big team of people in suits. It's mostly just folks in work clothes getting their hands dirty and moving parts around. The rhythm of the place is set by the sound of the equipment running. Sometimes it’s too loud to talk, so we just use hand signals or shout. When the machines stop for the day, the silence feels a bit strange. We eat lunch together most days, usually just bringing tiffins from home and sitting wherever there’s a clear spot. It’s not a glamorous life, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. As long as the work gets done and the trucks are loaded on time, we’re okay with it. Just a regular day.
