Thrishul Driving School

Setting up a driving school in Bangalore was quite the task. We are located in Subbayya Layout, right near the government school in Dodanekundi. It’s a good spot because there’s enough space for people to practice their turns without hitting too much traffic right away. Thrishul Driving School is basically just me and a couple of instructors. We have a few cars that we keep as clean as possible, though the dust in this part of town makes it hard. Every morning we start early before the heat gets too bad. We see a lot of nervous students. Some are young kids getting their first license and others are older folks who finally decided they needed to drive themselves around. It’s a lot of sitting in the passenger seat and keeping a foot near the extra brake. We don't have a big fancy office, just a small place to handle the paperwork. Sometimes parents wait outside while their kids are out on the road. We know the roads around Dodanekundi really well by now. The potholes and the speed bumps are just part of the lesson. It takes a lot of patience to do this work. We just try to be calm and explain things clearly. If someone stalls the car, we just tell them to try again. It's a living. We’ve been at this for a while and don't plan on moving from this little corner of Bangalore.
