Thomson Engineers

We are located at 55-E, (Np) Industrial Estate, in Ambattur. Being in an industrial estate means we are surrounded by other workshops and factories, so there is always a lot of humming and clanging in the air. Thomson Engineers is a place where we get our hands dirty. We deal with various engineering parts and machinery, mostly helping out other businesses that need something fixed or fabricated. The workshop isn't air-conditioned, so it gets pretty warm in the afternoons, but we've got big fans to keep the air moving. We have a few old machines that still work perfectly and some newer ones we’re still getting used to. Most of the guys here have been working with metal for years, so they know the sounds a machine makes when it's not running right. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. If you come by, you'll probably find us near the lathes or checking a blueprint on a messy desk. We take things as they come. If a job is urgent, we stay late to finish it. It’s not always pretty, and there’s always some dust on the shelves, but the work gets done correctly. Ambattur is a good place for this kind of business because everything we need is usually just a short drive away. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay on schedule. It is hard work, but we are used to it.
