The Search Driving School

The Search Driving School is located over at 108/4 on the 80Ft Road in Vijaynagar IV Stage. It is a busy area in Mysore, especially being so close to Chamundi Circle where the traffic can get a bit hectic during the afternoon rush. Our little office is usually filled with stacks of paperwork and some old chairs for people to sit on while they wait for their turn. Most of the morning is spent checking the cars and making sure there is enough petrol for the day. We spend a lot of time out on the road obviously, so the office is often empty for stretches of time except for maybe one person answering the phone. The 80Ft Road is where a lot of the initial learning happens because it is wide enough but you still have to watch out for the bikes and cows that wander across. It gets pretty dusty inside the cars by the end of the shift so we are always cleaning out the footwells. It is a straightforward kind of job where we just focus on getting people comfortable behind the wheel. We have been in this part of Mysore for a while now and most people around the circle know where we are tucked away. The sign outside has faded a bit from the sun but it is still easy to spot if you are looking for 108/4. It is just a regular local spot with people coming and going all day long.
