We are located in the Hari Building, specifically at 569 Chinmaya Mission Hospital Road within the Gidc Estate. Tecni Tex Nonwovens is what we call ourselves. It’s a bit of a mouthful, but the work is pretty straightforward. We deal with nonwoven fabrics, which isn't like regular weaving. It’s more about pressing and bonding fibers together. The Gidc Estate is always humming with activity, and our spot is no different. It gets dusty inside sometimes because of the materials we use, so there is a lot of sweeping involved at the end of every shift. We have these big rolls of fabric stacked up against the walls, sometimes higher than my head. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s a productive one. We spend a lot of time checking the weight and the thickness of the sheets coming off the line. If the temperature in the building gets too high, the machines act up a bit, so we’re always keeping an eye on that. We drink a lot of water and try to keep things organized, even though it feels like a losing battle with all the scrap pieces lying around. People from other units in the estate stop by to chat sometimes. It’s a decent community of workers here. We just put our heads down and get through the orders as they come in. There isn't much more to it than that. We just keep the rollers turning and the fabric moving along the floor.
