Being out here on Whitefield Road in Bengaluru is something else. The traffic alone is enough to make you want to stay in the office forever. At Tata Elxsi Ltd., we spend our time on a lot of technical things and design work. It’s a lot of sitting in front of screens and trying to figure out problems that most people wouldn’t even think about. The area is always under construction it seems, but that’s just Bengaluru for you. Inside, it’s a bit quieter, usually just the sound of typing and the occasional meeting in the corner. We don't have a lot of fancy stuff, just what we need to get through the projects. People here are pretty smart, though nobody really talks about it like that. We just do the work. Lunchtime is usually a quick break before heading back to the desk. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is coming up fast. It’s the kind of job where you’re always learning something new even if you didn't mean to. The office isn't anything special to look at, but it gets the job done for us. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and we’re used to the quirks of the building and the neighborhood. It’s just how it is when you’re working in this part of town. We just try to keep the servers running and the designs moving forward without too much fuss.
