Suresh Electric Company is right in the middle of the chaos at 663 Chickpet New M Market. If you’ve ever been to Chickpet, you know how crowded it gets with people and carts everywhere. Our shop is small and packed from floor to ceiling with wires, switches, and all sorts of electrical parts. It’s hard to move around sometimes without bumping into a box. We spend most of our day answering questions and pulling items off high shelves. It’s a fast-paced environment. There’s no air conditioning, just a few old fans that hum all day long. We’ve been in this market for years, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around us. It’s a loud place, with people shouting prices and horns honking outside. We don’t have any fancy displays. People come to us because they know we usually have that one specific part they can’t find anywhere else. The billing is still mostly done by hand in a big ledger. It might seem old-fashioned, but it works for us. By the time we close the shutters at night, we’re usually pretty tired. There isn't much room for sitting down during the day. We just keep the inventory moving and try to stay organized in the middle of the mess. It’s a busy life here in the market, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We just keep working and serving the folks who come through our door day in and day out.
