Sunrise Castings

Our place, Sunrise Castings, is tucked away in the 189 Peenya Industrial Area. It’s right over by West of Chord Road, near the industrial suburb part of town. It’s a noisy area, honestly, with all the other factories and shops around us. We’ve been working out of this spot for a while now. The air usually smells like metal and sweat, which is just part of the job when you’re dealing with castings. It’s not the cleanest work in the world, and our clothes usually have a few grease stains by the end of the shift. We have a few guys who have been with us since the start. We mostly just focus on getting the molds ready and pouring the metal. Sometimes the equipment acts up and we have to spend half the afternoon tinkering with it to get it running again. It can be frustrating, but that’s how it goes in a shop like this. We don’t have a big front office or a receptionist. Usually, if someone comes by, they just walk into the main area and find one of us. It’s a practical setup. We spend most of our time on the floor rather than sitting at desks. The heat from the furnaces can get pretty intense during the summer months, so we keep plenty of water around. It's just honest work that needs doing every day. We usually close up once the final pour is finished.
