St Marys Battery Shop

You can find St Marys Battery Shop at number 9 on Tilak Road in Austin Town. It’s a pretty straightforward place. We have stacks of batteries everywhere you look. Some are for cars, some are for big trucks, and others are for those power backup units people keep in their homes. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. My back usually feels it by the time we close up for the night. The floor is concrete and has some stains from old battery acid. We have a small machine for testing if a battery can still hold a charge or if it’s just scrap metal now. Austin Town is always moving, so we get people stopping by in a hurry because their car died in the middle of the road. We do our best to swap them out quickly. Tilak Road is narrow, so parking can be a bit of a pain for the customers. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the leads without getting a spark. It’s not a glamorous job. You end up with holes in your shirt from the acid if you aren't careful. We keep a ledger on the desk to write down the sales. It’s old fashioned but it works for us. We just keep the shop open at number 9 and wait for the next person who needs a jump or a new unit.
