Sri Venketeshwara Handicrafts

Malleshwaram is one of those parts of town that still feels like the old days. We are located at number 55 in the Raja Snow Rajamma Building, right on 6th Cross. It is a solid old building, and we have been here for quite some time now. Sri Venketeshwara Handicrafts is tucked away, so you really have to be looking for us to find the place. The street outside is usually full of people walking to the local markets or heading home. We spend our mornings setting things up and getting the workspace ready. There is a lot of hand-painting and carving that goes on here, so it is usually pretty quiet inside, except for the sound of the fans. We keep our supplies in the back, and sometimes it gets a bit disorganized when we are in the middle of a big project. The light in Malleshwaram has a certain way of hitting the old buildings in the evening. We don't have any fancy displays, just our finished pieces sitting on wooden tables. The staff here are more like family, and we spend a lot of time talking over coffee while we work on the details. It is a slow process making these things by hand, but that is just the way we have always done it. We are not interested in rushing things or making them look like they came out of a factory. It is just honest work in an old neighborhood.
