Sri Venkateshwara Dental College Hospital is located on the edge of Bengaluru. Being both a dental college and a hospital means the building is always full of activity. We have patients coming in with toothaches and students trying to learn the best ways to fix them. It can get a bit loud with the sound of the equipment and people talking in the corridors. It’s definitely not one of those shiny, perfect medical centers you see in advertisements. It’s a practical place where real work gets done. The floors are cleaned all the time because of the patient traffic, but it still feels like a busy, lived-in public building. We spend our days managing the schedules for both the clinic and the classrooms. Bengaluru traffic is always a problem, so we’ve learned to be a bit flexible when people are running late. The staff here are mostly local folks or people who moved to the city for their careers. We don't have any fancy lobbies or expensive decorations. It’s just rows of dental chairs, some labs, and the usual classrooms. We focus on the practical side of dentistry because that’s what really matters when you’re treating someone. Most days are quite long, and we’re usually pretty tired by the time we lock up, but we come back the next morning and do it all again. It’s a straightforward, busy life here, providing a place for dental care and learning for the local community and the students.
