Sri Ranganatha Battery House

We set up shop at 54 Nagarbhavi Main Road, right in the Vijayanagar area near Saraswathi Nagar. This stretch of road is always moving with bikes and cars. Dealing with batteries is heavy work, and you have to be careful about the acid and the lead. Our shelves are lined with all sizes of batteries, from the small ones for scooters to the big heavy ones used in trucks or for home power backups. Usually, we have a few units on the chargers at the back, humming away all day. The shop has that distinct smell of electronics and chemicals that you get used to after a week. People often come in when their vehicle won't start, so they are usually in a bit of a hurry or feeling frustrated. We test the old batteries to see if they can be saved or if they are just dead. It’s a lot of lifting and carrying things out to the curb to install them in someone's car. Our hands are usually stained with a bit of dirt or grease. We have a small table where we keep the testing equipment and a notebook for warranties. It’s a practical kind of place. We don't have any fancy displays, just the products stacked up where they fit. We’ve been here long enough that people from Saraswathi Nagar know to come to us when their lights go out or their car won't click over.
