Sri Nanjundeshwara Battery House

We are located over at Gnanajyothi Nagar 817. The shop is pretty easy to find if you’re looking for it. We deal with all sorts of batteries, mostly for vehicles and those home backup systems. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, so my arms are always a bit tired. We have rows of new batteries and a corner for the old ones that people bring back. It’s not the cleanest job in the world. You’re always getting your hands dirty with something or other. The shop floor is concrete and has a few cracks from where we dropped a heavy one years ago. We have a small TV in the corner that we keep on for the news, but mostly it’s just the sound of the street and the battery testers. People come in asking about their UPS when the power goes out, and we try to explain what’s going wrong without getting too technical. It’s just us here, usually two or three people. We take our tea breaks outside on the step. It’s a good spot to watch the world go by in Gnanajyothi Nagar. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It's just this one room filled with black boxes and cables. We do what we do and then go home when the sun goes down. It's a decent way to earn a living. We have been in this building for quite some time now.
