Sri Maruthi Battery Works

If you are looking for us, we are at number 37 in St Thomas Town. Sri Maruthi Battery Works has been a steady part of this street for a long time. The shop is pretty much packed with batteries of every size you can think of. We have small ones for motorbikes and really heavy ones for big trucks and home power backups. It is a lot of heavy lifting and my back feels it by the time evening rolls around. We have a sturdy old wooden bench in the back where we test things to see if a battery can be saved or if it is completely dead. Many times, people come in looking stressed because their car will not start and they are late for work. We try to help them out as quickly as we can. There is always a faint smell of chemicals in the shop but you stop noticing it after a few minutes. We do not have a fancy place for customers to sit, just a couple of old plastic chairs near the door. The road outside is usually quite crowded with people heading to the station. My father was the one who started this business and I have just kept it running the same way he did. We still use an old paper ledger to write down our sales because it is simple and it works for us. If you are passing through and need something checked, just pull up outside.
