Sri Manjunatha Battery Point

If you’re near Mulund Station, you’ve probably seen us right across the way at 1114/A Ashok Nagar. Sri Manjunatha Battery Point is basically a small shop filled with batteries of all sizes. It’s a bit cramped inside because we have to stack the heavy casings wherever they fit. The shelves are reinforced. Batteries weigh a lot. We’re usually busy with people coming from the station needing a start for their scooters or cars. It’s a loud area. Trains and commuters rush past all day long. We have the big chargers running in the back, so there’s always a slight hum in the air. Sometimes the acid from the old batteries makes marks on the floor. We try to keep it clean enough. It gets dusty pretty fast with the road right there. Most of our day is spent testing voltages and carrying heavy units out to people's vehicles. We don't have a lot of space for sitting. We are usually standing by the counter. When it rains, the water splashes up from the street. We have to move the stock back a bit then. We talk to a lot of taxi drivers who stop by since they’re always on the move. It’s a simple shop where we just spend time checking those black boxes and wires. Nothing fancy. Just batteries and cables everywhere.
