Sri Lakshmi Auto Batteries

Our shop is at 30 Kumaraswamy Layout in the Satya Nagar area. It’s a small place packed with batteries of all sizes. You can usually smell the acid and the lead as soon as you walk in. Most people only come to see us when their car or scooter won't start, so they’re often in a bit of a hurry or frustrated. We spend our time testing old batteries to see if they can hold a charge or if they are just completely dead. There are wires and charging units all over the workbench. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is. Sometimes we have to go out to someone’s house nearby if their vehicle is stuck in their driveway. Kumaraswamy Layout has a lot of ups and downs, so batteries take a bit of a beating around here. We’ve got new ones on the shelves and we also take in the old ones for scrap. It’s mostly just me and a helper keeping things running. We don't have a waiting room or anything, just a stool if you want to sit while we check your alternator. It is a steady kind of work. One battery goes out, a new one goes in, and the customer goes on their way. We just keep doing that every day, making sure we have the right ones in stock for whatever rolls up. The rain sometimes makes the shop floor a bit slippery, but we manage.
