Sri Durgamba Battery Point

If you’re driving down Dr Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar 2nd Block, you’ll see us at 608 A. We’re right there on the main road, which is good because that’s where all the cars are. Sri Durgamba Battery Point is basically a room full of heavy lead-acid batteries and a few charging stations. The air always has that sharp, tangy smell of battery acid, and my hands are usually stained with a bit of grease or dirt. People mostly come to us when they’re having a bad day because their car or bike won’t start. I spend a lot of time testing voltages and cleaning terminals. It’s heavy work, lifting those batteries in and out of vehicles all day. The shop doesn't look like much, just some metal racks and a workbench that’s seen better days. We have a couple of plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait for a charge, but most folks are in a hurry. The traffic on Dr Rajkumar Road never seems to stop, so it’s always noisy outside. We’ve been here for a while, and the locals know they can just drop by. I don't use any fancy machines, just the old testers that have worked for years. It’s a straightforward trade. You bring a dead battery, and I see if I can bring it back to life or if you need a new one. That is pretty much the whole story of this place.
