Spectra Tools

Our shop, Spectra Tools, is a bit of a trek for most people. We are located at Plot No. 127, Part 1 & 1A, in the 1st Phase of the Kiadb Industrial Area out in Harohalli. It’s part of the Kanakapura Taluk, so it’s quite far from the middle of Bengaluru. The commute can be a bit much, especially with the road construction, but once you get here, it’s much quieter than the city. The industrial estate is massive and has a lot of open space. Our unit is a big, sturdy building with high ceilings that help keep the heat down. We spend the day working on various tools and parts, and the sound of the machines echoing in the shed is something you get used to. We don't have many visitors because of the distance, so it’s usually just the crew. We bring our own lunch boxes and eat together in the small room near the back. The air feels a bit different here, more like the countryside than an urban area. We keep our equipment clean, but the floors always end up with a bit of grease and dust by five o'clock. It’s a lot of physical labor, and your hands are rarely clean at the end of a shift. We don't worry about looking professional for any corporate types; we just focus on making sure the machines are running right. It’s a steady way to spend the day in the factory.
