Our place is located in the Bommasandra Industrial Area at 30/1. Southern Batteries Pvt Ltd is what the sign says. Being in an industrial area means it’s always loud with trucks and machines going all day long. We’ve gotten used to the noise though. It’s just part of the environment. Inside, it’s mostly just a workspace. We have the equipment we need and we just get on with it. It’s not the kind of place you’d come for a tour or anything. It’s practical. We have some coffee in the mornings and then start the shift. Sometimes the weather gets really hot and the fans don't do much, but we manage. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved usually. We keep our supplies stacked up in the corner. The floor is concrete and has some stains, but it’s a working building, so that’s expected. We’ve been at this address for a while and we know the other people working on this block. We might chat for a minute by the gate during a break. We aren't big on formalities here. If something needs fixing, we try to fix it ourselves first. It’s just how we operate. We show up, do what needs doing at 30/1, and then head back home. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy most of the time. We don't really think about it more than that. It's just our daily routine.
