South African Airways Cargo

The office is on the first floor of Srivari Enclave right by the airport exit. It gets pretty loud with the planes taking off all day but we are used to it by now. We have been here for a while handling the cargo side of things for the airline. Most days involve a lot of paperwork and checking on containers that come through. It is not a big fancy setup just a few desks and some filing cabinets that are starting to overflow. We spend a lot of time on the phone with the warehouse guys and the ground staff to make sure things are moving. The airport road is always busy so getting in and out for lunch can be a bit of a hassle. We usually just bring tiffins and eat in the small break area since it's easier than fighting traffic. It’s a straightforward operation where we focus on getting the freight sorted and onto the right flights. Sometimes people stop by looking for the passenger terminal and we have to point them back toward the main road because they got lost at the exit. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow especially if you are carrying boxes but it works for what we need. We do not have a big lobby or anything like that because most of our work happens over the computer or down on the tarmac. It is just the few of us here making sure the logistical part of the airline keeps ticking along day after day.
