We are based over at 33, MIE. It’s an industrial estate, so as you can imagine, it’s pretty loud and there is a lot of traffic with delivery vans and workers coming and going. We do auto parts here. Most of the space is taken up by machinery and stacks of metal components waiting to be shipped out. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch where you step because there is always something being moved around. The office is just a small corner partitioned off from the main floor so we can hear ourselves talk. We don’t really do visitors much, unless it’s a delivery driver or someone picking up an order. The air smells like oil and metal, which is what you’d expect from an auto industry shop. We have a team of guys who really know their way around the equipment. Some of them have been here since the company started. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that on the walls. Mostly it’s just calendars and safety posters. We work hard during the shift and then head home. The MIE area is quite large, so it took us a while to get used to the layout when we first moved here. It’s a solid, no-nonsense place to work. We just focus on making the parts and getting them out the door on time every day for our customers.
