Our place is at No.113/7 in Ulsoor, right on the Old Madras Road. If you've ever driven down that way, you know the traffic can be a real headache most days. We’ve been here for a good while, running Sikkas Quick Handling Services. It’s a small operation mostly. We handle all sorts of goods that come through this part of Bangalore. The building is right on the main stretch, so it’s easy for the trucks to pull in, even if the road is a bit tight for them sometimes. Inside, it’s mostly just metal shelves and a few old desks where we keep track of everything on paper. We aren't big on decorations or having fancy furniture. It is a working space through and through. We get started early in the morning before the sun gets too hot and the humidity sets in. Ulsoor has a lot of history, and you can see it in the older buildings and the small shops all around us. We are just one part of that daily grind. Some of the guys have been working here for years and know every corner of the shop. We know the shortcuts around Old Madras Road to avoid the worst of the jams. Handling things quickly is the name of the game, but it’s mostly just manual work and keeping a sharp eye on the manifest. We don't spend much time on the phone unless we really have to. Most of our work is right there on the floor. It’s a bit dusty with the construction nearby, but we keep things moving.
