Shruthi Cargo Movers is based at 330 Konena Agrahara, which is right near K R Engineering. If you know the area, you know it’s a busy spot with lots of students and people moving through. Our office is fairly simple, mostly just a place to keep the logs and talk to drivers. There are usually a few trucks parked nearby or coming in to load up. Moving things for people involves a lot of lifting and carrying, so we are often out on the road rather than sitting behind a desk. We deal with boxes, tape, and bubble wrap all day long. Sometimes the traffic near the engineering college gets backed up, which makes our timing a bit difficult, but that is just part of living in this city. We started this because there was a need for it in the neighborhood. It’s not a fancy corporate setup with uniforms and polished floors. We are just a few guys who spend the day packing boxes and loading them onto the trucks. The walls of the office have some old calendars and maps pinned up to help us plan the routes. Most of the work comes from word of mouth around Konena Agrahara. People see our trucks and just ask us for help when they are moving house or shifting their stuff somewhere else. It’s straightforward work that keeps us busy from the morning until the sun goes down and the trucks come back.
