Shri Krishna Vijay Saw Mills

We have been here at Dadoji Konddeo X Road for quite a while now. Most people around Ghorapdeo know where the mill is because of the sound of the saws running through the day. Shri Krishna Vijay Saw Mills isn't a fancy place with a glass front or anything like that. It's just a dusty yard in D.P. Wadi where we cut logs into the sizes people need for their building work or furniture. My hands are usually covered in sawdust by ten in the morning and that is just how it goes here. We get all sorts of wood coming in on trucks and it takes a lot of effort to move things around when the space gets cramped. Sometimes the machines act up or the power goes out, which happens more than I'd like. We just deal with it and get back to work. There are a few of us working here and we know the locals who drop by for a few planks or some scrap. It is a bit loud and messy but it is honest work. You can find us right off the main stretch, usually busy with a delivery. We don't spend time on fancy paperwork. We just cut the wood, stack it up, and wait for the next load to arrive. It is what we do every day and it keeps us busy from sunrise till we close up the gates for the night. We enjoy the smell of fresh timber even after all these years.
