Shree Godavari Bearing Co. is located on the third floor of Fida Mansion. You have to climb the stairs up to 22, Bibijan Street to find us. It’s a busy area and the street is always packed with people moving crates and pushing carts. Our space is filled with boxes of bearings of all sizes. Sometimes it feels like we are living in a maze of metal parts. We deal with all sorts of bearings for machines and vehicles. It’s a bit of a climb for some folks, but once you’re up here, it’s a bit quieter than the street level. We spend a lot of time looking through catalogs and checking shelf stock to see if we have that one specific part someone is looking for. The fans on the ceiling hum constantly to keep the air moving in the small rooms. We have been in this building for quite a while, so we know all the other shop owners nearby. If we don’t have something, we usually know who does. It’s a simple way of doing things. No one wears a suit here. We usually have grease on our hands or dust on our shirts from moving the inventory around. We just focus on getting the right bearing into the hands of the person who needs it so they can get their own machines running again without too much trouble.
