Shekhar Hospital

If you’ve ever driven down Bull Temple Road, you probably know where we are. Shekhar Hospital is at No.81, right across from the petrol pump in Basavanagudi. It’s a convenient landmark for people to find us. We’ve been here for many years, and the building definitely shows its age in some spots, but it works well for what we need. The atmosphere inside is usually a bit hurried. We see a lot of elderly patients from the neighborhood who have been coming to us for decades. The street outside is always noisy with buses and cars, especially during the morning rush. Inside, we have a few wards and several consultation rooms. We don't have a big corporate management team or anything like that. It’s mostly just the doctors and the nursing staff running the show. We try to keep the waiting area clean, though with so many people coming in and out, it’s a constant task. We have a small desk near the entrance where we keep all the files. Everything is still mostly done on paper here, which some people might find old-fashioned, but it’s how we’ve always done it. Sometimes we run out of chairs when a lot of families show up at once, so people end up leaning against the walls. It’s just a local hospital doing what it can for the people of Basavanagudi. We don't try to be anything we’re not. It’s just us, working every day.
