Our shop is located at 77 Chickpet, specifically on the 31st Cross, 10th A Main Road. We’re right near that big electrical transformer, so it’s pretty hard to miss once you’re on the street. Sha Manikchand Laxmichand & Co has been around this area for quite a long time. Chickpet is always crowded and noisy, but we like the energy of the market. Our space is filled with whatever we’re selling at the moment, and it can get a bit cluttered if we’ve had a big shipment. We don't have a fancy showroom or any of that modern stuff. It’s just a place of business where we deal with customers face to face. We’ve got regulars who have been coming to us for years. They know we don't do all that polished marketing talk or try to sell them things they don't need. We just tell you what we have in stock and what the price is. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit messy and we have to move things inside, but that’s just part of being in this part of town. We open up early and stay until the shutters go down in the evening. There’s always someone drinking tea or checking ledgers in the back room. It’s a family-style environment even if we aren't all related to each other. We keep things simple and honest because that’s the way we’ve always done it. If you need something, you just come in and ask. Finding us near the transformer is easy.
