Satyanarayan Silk Palace

You can find Satyanarayan Silk Palace over at Narayan Mansion, No. 33/2. We are on the first floor on Jumma Masjid Road. It’s a good location, though climbing the stairs can be a bit much for some people. The room is filled with rolls of silk and different fabrics we’ve collected. We spend a lot of time just folding and unfolding material for people to see. The light in the shop isn't perfect, but you can still see the colors well enough. We’ve been here in this building for quite some time now. Jumma Masjid Road is always busy, especially on the weekends. We don't really do fancy displays or big sales events. We just have our stock and we show it to whoever comes up the stairs. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone around to help out. Sometimes we get a bit behind on tidying up the shelves, but that’s just part of running a busy shop. We like the history of this area. There are so many stories in these old buildings. People come to us when they need something specific for a wedding or a special day. We just try to be helpful and give them a fair price without any of that loud marketing talk you see elsewhere. It’s a quiet place compared to the street below. We've seen many generations walk through our doors since we first started out.
