Sands Precesion Pvt Ltd is tucked away in M1 of the Peenya Industrial Area. You have to find D S Lane off Avenue Road to get to us. Peenya is a heavy place with a lot of metal and machine sounds all day long. Our workshop has that smell of oil and cold steel that you find in places like this. We have been working out of this lane for a long time, watching the factories around us change hands. It’s a gritty part of town but it’s where the real work happens. The mornings start early here, usually before the sun is fully up, to beat the heat of the machines later on. Our floor is always covered in a bit of dust, no matter how much we sweep it at night. The desks in the small office area are piled with drawings and technical sheets. We don’t have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room because most people who come here are wearing overalls anyway. It’s about getting the parts right and making sure the measurements are okay. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of living in an industrial zone. We don’t talk much about our history or what we want to be. We just focus on the job we have today and getting it finished correctly.
