Samashtee Life Foundation

Samashtee Life Foundation is located at No.45, on the 5th Main in the Postal Colony area of Anjaynagar. It’s part of the RMV Extension II Stage here in Bangalore. The neighborhood is mostly families and older folks who have lived here for years. Our office is just a regular house that we’ve turned into a workspace. There’s a small garden out front that we try to keep tidy, though the weeds usually win. We work on various things that affect people’s daily lives and well-being. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We wear casual clothes and sometimes the neighbor’s dog comes in to say hello. The rooms are a bit small, so we have to be organized with our boxes and files. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just focus on what needs to be done that day. Sometimes it’s helping a local person with a problem, other times it’s planning a small event for the colony. It’s a very local way of doing things. We’ve got a small kitchen where we make tea, and that’s usually where the best ideas come from anyway. The street is pretty quiet, which helps when we need to concentrate. It’s just an honest, small-scale operation where we try to be useful to the people around us without making a big deal about it or acting like we are important.
