Sagar Deluxe

Yelahanka New Town is a bit quieter than the main city center, but Hesaraghatta Main Road still gets its fair share of traffic. Sagar Deluxe is at number 15, right where people pass by on their way to work or the market. We open up the shutters early when the air is still a bit cool. The first thing we do is get the stove going for the morning coffee and tea. It's a simple setup with tables that are easy to wipe down. We don't spend money on decorations because people just want their food quickly. The menu is written on a board, and we don't change it much because people know what they like. You get a lot of students and office workers coming in. The kitchen is small but we manage to get everything out on time. Sometimes when it rains, the water splashes up near the entrance, so we have to keep mopping it up so no one slips. I usually stand near the door or help with the billing. It’s a lot of the same thing every day, but that’s how a business like this works. We use a lot of onions and spices, so you can usually smell the cooking from the street. It’s a honest way to make a living. We aren’t trying to be anything other than a local eating place where you can get a decent meal without waiting too long.
