'S' Mushroom Agritech

'S' Mushroom Agritech is out in Hoskote at number 27. We spend most of our time working with mushroom cultures and helping local farmers get started with their own crops. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but it’s quieter out here which is better for what we do. Mushrooms can be a bit finicky, so we have to keep a close eye on the temperature and the humidity in the growing areas every day. It’s mostly hands-on work, getting the bags ready and making sure the spores are taking hold properly. We aren't a big industrial farm, just a smaller setup where we can pay attention to the details of each batch. People from around Hoskote come by to ask questions about how to grow their own or to buy some of the supplies we have available. We try to keep things simple and share what we’ve learned over the years about the process. Some days are slow and we just do maintenance on the sheds, while other days we are busy from dawn until dusk. It’s a dirty job sometimes, handling the compost and the heavy bags, but it is rewarding to see things actually growing. We started this because we had a real interest in agriculture and saw that mushrooms were becoming more popular in the local markets. We don't have a slick office or anything, just the growing rooms and a small space to talk to visitors who stop by. It’s just us out here.
