S M S G Jain College is located right here in Indira Nagar, Bangalore. We are very close to CMH Road, situated right across from the Shanthi Sagar Hotel. It’s an extremely busy part of the city. Being in such a central location means there is always something happening right outside our front doors. The traffic is almost constant, but once you are inside the college building, things feel a bit more settled and quiet. We have students coming from many different parts of Bangalore just to study here. The building is older than some of the newer ones around, but it serves its purpose well. We have several classrooms and a few dedicated lab spaces for science work. Our staff room is often a bit cramped because we have quite a few teachers sharing the space. We mostly focus on commerce and arts subjects here. It’s not a fancy private institution with a massive campus or sports fields. We have a small parking area for scooters, but it is always completely full by nine in the morning. Most of the staff and students take the metro or the city buses anyway, since the station is so nearby. We do our best to keep up with all the university requirements and the mountain of paperwork that comes with it. It’s a lot of daily work for us, but we get it done.
