Our business, S M Hardware & Tools Suppliers, is located at No. 5 in Saify Manzil on Mandi Veerappa Lane. It’s just off Silver Jubilee Park Road, which everyone knows is a hub for this kind of work. The lane is quite narrow, so it’s always a bit of a scramble when a big shipment arrives. Our shop is packed with all sorts of hardware and tools, from the small stuff to some larger pieces. We’ve been in this building for quite some time now. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned setup with high ceilings and shelves that go all the way up. We use a rolling ladder to get to the items at the top. The light in the lane can be a bit dim, but we have enough lights inside to see what we’re doing. It’s a lot of manual work, checking items against lists and packing them up for people. We don't have any fancy brochures or a corporate office. It’s just us here at the counter, day in and day out. The atmosphere on Mandi Veerappa Lane is always energetic, with lots of shouting and the sound of trolleys. We just fit right into that rhythm. We try to keep lots of different things in stock so that when someone comes in, we usually have what they need sitting right there on the shelf. It’s a noisy way to spend the day, but it’s a living and we’re used to the chaos that comes with being in this area.
