S L N Precision Works

At S L N Precision Works, we are based at C 134 in Peenya. This part of the industrial estate is where a lot of the smaller, specialized units are located. We’ve been here for a good number of years. Our work is all about the details, so the shop is set up with a lot of lighting and specific benches for fine work. It’s not as loud as some of the bigger factories down the road, but we stay just as busy. We spend our hours looking at blueprints and measuring parts to make sure they are exactly right. It requires a lot of patience and a steady hand. The building is a simple concrete structure, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, we keep things as organized as we can, though some days are more chaotic than others when a big order comes in. We usually have a lot of metal scraps that we have to clear out at the end of every week. The commute to Peenya can be a bit of a struggle with the traffic, but once we are inside the gates, we just focus on the machines. We have a small group of workers who really know their stuff. We don't spend money on advertising; we just let the work speak for itself when it gets delivered. It’s a quiet, focused environment most of the time. We take our tea breaks together and talk about whatever is in the news. It’s just a normal way to earn a living for us here in this unit.
