The Rubber Extrusion & Moulding Co is over at 26/B in the Peenya Industrial Area. If you’ve ever been to Peenya, you know it’s a place where things are actually made. There is always the sound of machinery and trucks moving around. Our spot is a regular industrial unit. We have the machines for extruding and moulding rubber right there on the floor. It can get pretty hot inside, especially during the summer months when the machines have been running all day. The smell of rubber is something you just stop noticing after the first week of working here. We have a small office section partitioned off from the main workshop where we keep the records and talk to customers. It’s not a place for fancy clothes; we usually end up with a bit of grease or dust on us by the end of the shift. The Peenya area can be a bit rough around the edges, and the roads aren't always in the best shape, but it’s where the work happens. We take our breaks together and usually just have tea and some biscuits. It’s a hardworking environment without any frills. We aren't trying to be anything other than a factory that makes rubber parts. We’ve been at 26/B for many years now, and the routine hasn't changed much in all that time. It’s just about keeping the machines running and the orders moving.
