Raos Creations

Out here in Nejiguri Bandale, things are a bit quieter than in the big city. We have our little workspace where we handle all the creations that people ask for. It’s mostly just us working with fabrics and materials to make something new. The shop isn't very big, but it’s ours. We spend a lot of time sitting at the tables, cutting and measuring. Sometimes the light in Nejiguri is really nice in the afternoons, which helps when you are doing detail work. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just want to make things that people in the neighborhood like to wear or use. The floor is usually covered in little scraps of thread and cloth. We try to sweep it up every evening, but it’s back again the next morning. It’s a simple life here. We know most of the people who walk past our door. If someone needs a small repair or something custom made, they just drop in and tell us what they’re thinking. We have a few sewing machines that have been with us for a long time and they still run great. It’s not a fast-paced environment. We take our time to make sure the stitches are straight. It’s just a small shop in a quiet place, doing what we know how to do best for the folks around here.
