SKANDA GRANITES

If you head down 69th Cross in Rajaji Nagar, near the VIP School, you will find our yard. Skanda Granites is basically a place filled with heavy stone slabs and the sound of people moving things around. It’s not a clean or quiet job. There is usually some stone dust in the air and the smell of wet rock from the cutting. We spend our days showing people different types of granite, explaining the patterns, and helping them figure out what might work for their floors or counters. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned office to sit in; we’re mostly out there on the floor or standing near the entrance. The inventory changes as we get new loads in, so there is always something different to look at. We’ve been in this part of the 5th Block for quite some time now. Most of our customers are locals or builders who just need a place to get stone. We don't do much in the way of advertising or marketing. People usually just find us by walking by or hearing about us from a neighbor. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is out, and moving these slabs takes a lot of care so they don’t crack or chip. We are just a group of people who know a lot about stone and don’t mind getting our hands a bit dirty. It’s a straightforward business, and we like it that way. We just keep moving the stones and talking to customers who drop by.
