Pushpagiri Forgings

If you come down to Vijaya Nagar, specifically on A M Road, you'll find us at number 39. Pushpagiri Forgings is where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s hot work, honestly. Dealing with metal and heat means you’re always sweating, even when the weather is supposed to be cool. We do a lot of hammer work and shaping. It’s not the kind of thing you can learn from a book; you just have to do it until your arms get used to the weight. The neighborhood has changed, but the sound of the shop stays the same. Clang, clang, all day long. We don’t have a website that looks like a movie poster. We just have a workshop that smells like iron and oil. People bring us sketches on scraps of paper, and we try to turn them into something solid. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the dimensions right. We aren't perfect, but we stay until the job is done. My father used to say that metal doesn't lie, and I guess that’s true. If you don't hit it right, it won't shape right. We take our breaks sitting on the old wooden benches outside when the air gets too thick inside. It’s a simple life, focused on making things that last longer than we will. That is just how we do things here.
