Punith Motor Driving School

Punith Motor Driving School is situated at No. 896, right near the entrance of Mahalakshmi Layout on the 2nd Main road. It’s a pretty good spot because it’s right opposite the Sap... building, so people find us easily enough. The layout has some steep sections and curves which are actually great for teaching people how to handle the car properly. Our office is just a front for the real work which happens out on the streets. We have a desk that’s covered in brochures and a calendar that’s marked up with all the different time slots. Most of the people who come to us live in Mahalakshmipuram, so we see a lot of familiar faces from the neighborhood. The morning air is usually nice before the buses start pumping out smoke, so those are the best hours for the lessons. We teach people the basics, like how to stay in their lane and how to not panic when a scooter cuts them off. The cars we use are small and easy to handle, which helps the new drivers feel a bit more in control. During the rainy season, the roads get a bit slippery and we have to be extra careful, but that’s just part of learning. We don't have a big team, just a few instructors who know these roads like the back of our hands. It’s a lot of sitting and waiting for the student to find the right biting point.
