The Private Hospitals & Nursing Homes Association is tucked away in Kumarapark West. Specifically, we’re at 4th Cross in the 4th Block, near Seshadripuram. It’s a relatively quiet street compared to the main roads, which is nice for when we have to focus. This isn’t a hospital where you go for surgery; it’s more of an office where the administrative side of things happens. We’ve got a lot of files and folders stacked up on the desks. Usually, there’s a few of us here handling memberships and talking to hospital owners from around the city. The building itself is an older style, typical for this part of Bangalore. It has those heavy doors and tiled floors that stay cool even when it’s hot outside. We spend a lot of time on the phone or responding to emails about regulations and local healthcare news. Sometimes we host meetings in the small conference room, and it gets a bit cramped when more than ten people show up. We usually end up bringing in extra plastic chairs from the back. There’s a small kitchenette where we make tea, and the smell of cardamom usually fills the hallway around three in the afternoon. It’s a functional office space. No one here wears fancy suits unless there’s a big meeting. We’re just here to help the local nursing homes stay connected with each other and stay updated on what is happening in the medical world.
