Plaza Decorators

Plaza Decorators is over in the Shivaji Nagar GIDC Estate area, right on the Main Road at 38/1. It’s an industrial kind of place, so there is always the sound of trucks and machines nearby. We use our space here to store all the things we use for decorating events, like the big drapes, the flower stands, and all the light sets. It can get pretty messy inside with all the ribbons and bits of cloth lying around after we come back from a job. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading the small van we have. The heat in the estate can be quite a lot in the afternoons, so we usually have the big shutter half-open to get a bit of a breeze. People come to us from all over the area when they have a party or a small opening ceremony. We aren't a big agency with a receptionist; usually, you just find one of us with a tape measure or a hammer in hand. We’ve been at this Main Road spot for years, and we know the other shop owners around the GIDC quite well. It’s a lot of late nights and early mornings, especially when there are festivals. We just focus on getting the fabric straight and making sure the lights actually turn on when they are supposed to. It’s a busy life but it keeps us going. We always have a pot of tea on the small stove.
