Our little shop is tucked away at 13/2 on Bpc Road over in the Alkapuri area of Nagasandra. If you walk past too fast, you might almost miss us. It’s usually just the sound of the sewing machines clicking away all afternoon. We have piles of different fabrics scattered around on the tables and chairs because there never seems to be enough shelf space for everything. People from the neighborhood come in with their ideas, and we try to get the measurements right. It’s dusty from all the thread and cloth scraps on the floor, but we sweep up every evening before locking up. My aunt used to do this, and now I’m the one sitting at the machine most days. We don't have a big sign or bright lights. The neighbors know us as the place where the radio is always playing some old songs in the background. Sometimes a customer brings a photo from a magazine and asks if we can make something like that. We try to make it work with whatever we have. The lighting isn't the greatest in the back room, so we do the detailed work near the front window where the sun comes in. It gets busy before holidays, and we end up staying late quite a bit. It’s just a normal workshop where we try to keep the needles moving and the patterns straight.
